The provision of quality and specialist expertise in the event and exhibitions industry and the strengthening of the Swiss exhibition industry is / are our principal preoccupation, remit, concern, role. It combines strengths, develops the breadth of the industry offering and, in so doing, strengthens the industry’s acceptance in politics and business. Every year in Switzerland almost 7 million people visit over 200 trade shows and exhibitions. Together with the Swiss economic development authorities, the «Expo-Event. Live Communications Association Switzerland» through the deployment of measures designed to promote the location on the international stage, ensures the longterm future of the Swiss Fairs industry.
The association also focuses clearly on the further development of educational courses and on putting targeted marketing tools into place. To this end we will push forward with the new courses of study designed in conjunction with the University for Applied Sciences in Business Administration
Zürich (HWZ) and the cooperation with the University of St. Gallen.
TRAINING
In close cooperation with the centre of excellence for fairs and events at the Institute of Marketing of the University of St. Gallen, the Bachelor degree option «Fair, convention and event marketing» will be offered. Furthermore, association members will benefit from the 5 – 6 focus groups and 1 – 2 day seminars to be held
each year to promote further education amongst management-level employees.
Together with the University for Applied Sciences in Business Administration Zürich (HWZ), the Expo-Event association offer the internationally and federally recognised study «CAS Live Communication». This course give the students also the possibility to study three more modules (CAS) and to write a «Master Thesis». So the students can achieve the «Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Live Communcation. More informations: www. fhhwz.ch

The interests of our members will be represented in three working groups: agencies, suppliers and exhibition centres.
INTERNATIONAL NETWORK
The association has an extensive network of connections with organizations around the globe, and thus has valuable contacts with colleagues in the industry worldwide. The association currently has active exchanges of know-how and information with EMC Schweiz, FAMAB Germany, IM Austria, AUMA Germany, UFI Global, IFES Global.
BREAKFAST CLUBS
For around two years now, Expo-Event has regularly organised Breakfast Clubs for members and other interested parties.
During these meetings lectures are given on the Live Communications Industry, which make getting up on time well worth it. First-hand encounters with top-level speakers and new industry trends are guaranteed.
CONTINUING EDUCATION
The association regularly offers job training in the fields of management, communication and sector- specific tuition.

The association promotes social networking between members with a diverse range of activities, such as study tours, business visits, and participation in trade fairs or cultural events. $
Alongside the projects mentioned above,
the Association is involved in a whole host of other activities in support of the Swiss Live Communications industry. Like the «DOC» for example – the industry literature – which appears each year in printed form, or equally this SWISS FAIRS 2012 trade fair calendar.
